Coral Restoration Program

Our Coral Restoration Program is one of the largest reef restoration initiatives in the world. Working across the Caribbean, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, we have planted over 500,000 coral fragments since 2010.

Our Approach

We use a combination of traditional coral gardening techniques and cutting-edge science to restore damaged reefs:

  1. Coral Nurseries: We maintain underwater nurseries where coral fragments grow in protected conditions
  2. Outplanting: Mature coral fragments are carefully transplanted to degraded reef sites
  3. Monitoring: Our scientists track growth rates, survival, and ecosystem recovery
  4. Research: We study heat-resistant coral strains that can withstand warming oceans
